WELCOME TO THE THINK SCREEN

WELCOME TO THE THINK SCREEN

If you have started to explore the VX you will know it is a contemporary communication tool. However, at its heart it is a tool to help both children and adults think really deeply about any social issue.

Any member - child or adult - is able to post Think Screen Cases. This quickly loads up an interactive area on the site from which respondents choose key concepts and write justifications, in response to proposals.

Here is an example to try out:

Jodie is a 12 year old student at your school, where you are the Principal. She is 'clinically obese' and is frequently taunted by her peers.

Jodie seems to love her food. She brings a lot of food to school every day - almost all of which might be defined as 'junk' (chips, lollies, cakes etc). Her mother prepares this food for her.

Jodie seems to eat twice as much as the average child. Several staff regard this as a problem and are asking you to forbid Jodie to eat 'junk' food in school. No action would be taken to prevent other children from choosing their own diet.

What should you do? Do you agree with the proposal below?
It is proposed that Jodie should be forbidden to eat 'junk' food in school
